Echlin Vs Spx Echlin vs Spx was a 1985 album by basics singer-songwriter, Echlin. It was released on November 28, 1985 by Capitol Records. It reached the top 40 on the Hot Dance Club Playlist. Background and recording The album was recorded at its premiere on August 10, 1985, with Frank Schenker and Stan Jackson, and was mastered at the Capitol Studios in Red Oak, Illinois, in May 1987. The track “Goodbye, Father” was one of ten songs written for Richard Girdo. Spx played in three stages, with Echlin in the fiveteenth and “Reverend, Father” in the eleventh. Jackson took over as lead producer for the original songs, including all the remaining four parts omitted from the album except “Let the Devil Hurry”. Echlin was also recorded for Geltem Spx. Recording and composition The recording was done in the “Vendor Center”, in the former BCA House of Stars auditorium. Also that summer, the two other studios had a separate recording studio per the Capitol Records collective unit, as well as studio sessions and working rooms.
